DAY 1:
CHIANG SAEN – HUAY XAY (-/-/D)
In the afternoon, you will embark on the new and
comfortable Lao Cruise ship Mekong Sun. After check out
with the Thai immigration, we start cruising to the nearby
Lao town of Huay Xay on the Laotian - Thai border. Our
voyage leads into northern Laos amid beautiful scenery.
Enjoy the spacious deck and lounge on board and attend our
Welcome Reception and dinner this evening. A selection of
Asian and European food will be provided throughout the
cruise.

DAY 2:
HUAY XAY – PAK THA (B/L/D)
Breakfast. The river traffic increases as we pass
through a densely populated region accessible only by
water. Relax on deck or in the lounge and soak up the
remote scenery. Today is full of scenic highlights. Visit
of local Wats and market in Huay Xay and continue to the
small village Pak Tha. From here we will do a shore
excursion with long tail boats on the Namtha river to
visit a Khmu village On the way back to the Mekong Sun we
will also be able to visit a local minority village of the
Hmong hill tribe. After arrival on the Mekong Sun we will
continue downstream and angkor at a sand bank.

DAY 3:PAK THA – PAKBENG
(B/L/D)
Breakfast. Just a short while after leaving the
sandbank, we will arrive in Pakbeng, where we will have a
small coffee break at a lodge. If the time allows it, we
will visit the market before we continue our cruise to see
an elephant camp, where we will be able to see logging
elephants in action. The night we will spend again at a
beautiful sandbank. This last evening on board will be
celebrated with a farewell dinner.

DAY 4:
PAKBENG – BAN XANG HAY – LUANG PRABANG (B/-/-)
Breakfast. A very famous tourist attraction is
the visit of the famous Pak Ou Caves, with thousands of
small Buddha statues inside deep caverns. The local liquor
distillery at Ban Xang Hay will welcome you just after
continuing our cruise downstream.
Today, our spectacular river cruise ends with our arrival
in Luang Prabang, we disembark in the former royal capital
of Laos, now UNESCO World Heritage Site.
End of service.
