This trip includes a 5 day trek through the hills and
valleys in the Sapa region where we visit several ethnic
tribes and stay overnight with the charming and hospitable
Red Dao and Tay peoples. Five nights are spent in these
minority villages – while accommodation is basic, the
experience is unique and unforgettable.
Activities:
Trekking and cultural experience
Day 1: Hanoi - Sapa
Pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi and transfer you to
Hano station
In the evening where you take the overnight train from Hanoi to
Lao Cai near the Chinese border. Overnight onboard
Day 2: Sapa - Cat Cat & Ta Phin Village - Sapa (B)
Upon arrival at Lao Cai we drive 35km to the former hill
station of Sapa. In the afternoon we embark on a walk into
the nearby Cat Cat valley, visiting Hmong villages along
the route. Later we drive the short distance to the Red
Dao village of Ta Phin nestled in a picturesque valley.

Day 3: Sapa - Trekking to Ban Ho & Thanh Phu
Village (B,L,D)
This morning we set out to explore some of the minority
settlements in the Sapa region. We descend into the valley
towards the Tay village of Ban Ho. We then cross a
suspension bridge and walk through paddy fields to Thanh
Phu village where we stay the night in homestay of Tay family.
Day 4: -Thanh Phu - Trekking to Nam Cung &
Sinchai (B,L,D)
Today we have a full day of exploring through Sapa's
scenic valleys. We will visit several minority villages
such as Nam Cung before arriving at the Red Dao village of
Sin Chai where we will be their guests for the next two
nights in bamboo huts.
Day 5: Around Sin Chai Village (B,L,D)
Choose between more exploring in and around Sin Chai
village, or if you prefer, relax in the village and
observe the daily life of the Red Dao people.
Day 6: Sin Chai - Nam Si village (B,L,D)
Our adventure continues as we trek further in to the heart
of Sapa. We will have some spectacular views of the
surrounding mountain ranges. We pass through several
different minority villages including the Red Dao, Blue
H'Mong and finally Nam Si village of the Tay people.
Tonight we stay in the village of Nam Si.
Day 7: Nam Si - Ban Ho - Lao Cai - Night train back to
Hanoi (B,L,D)
On our fifth and final day of trekking we begin walk
downhill toward My Son village belonging to the Xafo
people, one of the smallest minority groups in Vietnam.
From here we proceed to another Red Dao village for lunch.
Later we continue to Ban Ho village for the chance to swim
in the nearby La Vie waterfall before joining our vehicle
for the transfer back to Lao Cai station and the overnight
train to Hanoi.
Day 8: Arrival Hanoi
Upon arrival at Hanoi Station you will be transferred back
to your hotel.
